Bay Minette honors Kirk Jay

BAY MINETTE, Alabama — Hundreds lined the streets of Bay Minette on Friday, Dec. 21 to honor area native Kirk Jay, who took home third place on Season 15 of NBC’s The Voice.

Mayor Bob Wills presented a proclamation on the steps of the Baldwin County Courthouse, proclaiming Friday, Dec. 21 as Kirk Jay Day in the city of Bay Minette. He also presented Jay with a key to the city.

Baldwin County Judge of Probate Tim Russell, on behalf of Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey, also presented with an American Flag that had been flown over the Capitol building in Montgomery.

Following the ceremony, Jay signed autographs in the Courthouse Square pavilion for the better part of an hour.
