Herbert L. Bauer, 85, of Gulf Shores, died Thursday, May 31, 2007.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He graduated from college in Greeley, Colo., with a master’s degree. he moved to the state of Washington and worked for the Boeing Corp. as a facilities engineer for 30 years.
He retired to Gulf Shores 13 years ago. He enjoyed Mardi Gras and volunteering at the Shrimp Festivals.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Bauer of Gulf Shores; step-daughter, Dena (Brian) Holdener of Bonny Lake, Wash., and two step-grandchildren.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
