Bay Minette Intermediate School students were inspired to read when Mobile Bay Bears mascot, Teddy, stopped by to offer several incentives. Students must read books and take Accelerated Reader Quizzes in order to reach a base. Students who reach 1st base receive at ticket to the Bay Bears game on April 14th. When they reach 2nd base they receive a wristband that allows them to use the amusement park. The 3rd base prize is a commemorative baseball and participation in the pregame parade. Home Run status earns participants a free Pepsi and hot dog. Everyone was pumped up and ready to “Read the Bases” in order to participate.
