GULF SHORES, Ala. — The Alabama Gulf Coast Area Chamber of Commerce Catch the Island Spirit Committee presented its award for the month of December to Barbara Scott with the Hilton Garden Inn in Orange Beach. The nomination for Barbara stated, “When we talk about Island Spirit, I think about what it is that makes this island unique and successful. Our unique character, I believe comes from a true southern hospitality and charm, and our success is clearly driven by the hospitality industry. I believe that the housekeeping department is the backbone of the hotels and condos that help make our market so successful, and Barbara is a shining example of what it takes to keep people coming back to our area.” Pictured front row, from left: James Roach, Lynn Paul, Jack Inman, Rosemary McGaster, Hilton Garden Inn; Barbara Scott, Island Spirit Recipient; Nora Mandoki, Island Spirit Chairwoman; Lisa Stacey, Shanitta Johnson, Robert Knight, Hilton Garden Inn; Suzanne Parker, Holiday Inn Express; Jodi Prohaska, Kutter’s Ground’s Maintenance; Brenda Lazenby, Hilton Garden Inn.
