DOTHAN, Alabama - Several Baldwin County softball players helped the Mobile Thrillers 18U fast-pitch softball team winthe Alabama ASA "A" State Tournament in Dothan last week.
The state title qualifies them for the ASA 18U "A" National Tournament under way in Johnson City, Tenn., which concludes later this week.
Local Baldwin players on the National contending team include incoming high-school seniors Grey Adams (Samford University commit) of Fairhope, Peyton Grantham (University of Alabama commit) of Daphne, incoming Daphne juniors Ashlynn Kimbro and Meredith Mackin and Samford freshman signee (2012 Fairhope grad) Megan Dowdy. The team is coached by Coby Mackin of Belforest. Mackin is a former pitching coach at the University of South Alabama and head coach at the University of Mobile and founded the Spring Hill College women's program.
