Baldwin Pops plans two evening concerts

FAIRHOPE, Ala. — The Baldwin Pops Band will perform an outdoor “Pops in the Park” concert Oct. 18, at 6 p.m., at Henry George Park in Fairhope. This annual Founders’ Day event is sponsored by the Fairhope Single Tax Corp.

The concert will be performed again one week later on Oct. 25, at 5 p.m., at Waterfront Park in Orange Beach. This is the first time the Baldwin Pops Band has performed in Orange Beach.

Joe Riemer and Randy Davis will conduct the following selections: “An American Fanfare,” “Brighton Beach Concert March,” “British Eighth March,” “Cartoon Capers,” “Music from ‘The Chronicles of Narnia,’” “A Cowboy Symphony,” “A Disney March Spectacular,” “The Earl of Oxford’s March,” “Moorside March,” “A Shaker Gift Song” and “Way Down Yonder in New Orleans.”

Bring your lawn chairs and picnic baskets and enjoy a nice fall evening.

The “Checkered Tablecloth Award” will be presented to the group judged to have the most interesting picnic setup and the children can participate in the Children’s March after intermission.
