Under the baton of conductor Wayne Fillingim, the Baldwin Pops Band is set to enchant audiences with their Spring Concert in the Park scheduled for 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 28. The event will take place at Heritage Park, conveniently located at the junction of US 98 and AL 59 in Foley.

The repertoire for this family-friendly affair includes a captivating selection of musical pieces carefully curated for the occasion. Audiences can anticipate performances of renowned works such as "Irish Tune from County Derry" by Percy Grainger, recognized for its association with the beloved melody of "Danny Boy," as well as "Marche Slave" by Peter Tschaikowsky, "Molly on the Shore" by Percy Grainger, "Onward - Upward" by Edwin Franko Goldman, "The Pride of the Wolverines" by John Philip Sousa and "Windsprints" by Richard L. Saucedo. Additionally, a special guest conductor, Chad Faison, a member of the band, will lead the ensemble in performing "Pulse" by Randall D. Standridge.

In preparation for the outdoor setting, attendees are advised to bring chairs or blankets for seating and are encouraged to indulge in a picnic during the event. Following the intermission, children will have the opportunity to participate in a parade to the tunes of a march. The event will also feature the presentation of the Checkered Tablecloth Award to the individual or group with the most captivating picnic setup.
The Spring Concert in the Park is made possible through the generous sponsorship of the City of Foley.
