FAIRHOPE, Ala. - The high school cross country season kicks off Aug. 31 with the Foley Invitational meet, a big race at Graham Creek Park near Wolf Bay. 

The cross country season lasts from the end of August until early November, when teams from all over Alabama meet in Moulton for the AHSAA State Cross Country Meet. 

Here is a look at some notable races involving Baldwin County high school cross country teams in 2013:

• Aug. 31: Warrior Challenge at Cottage Hill Park (Mobile)
• Sept. 7: Challenge of Champions at Langan Park in Mobile
• Sept. 14: Azalea City Invitational at Brookley Field Golf Course
• Sept. 14: Cross Country Stampede at Escambia Co. Equestrian Center
• Sept. 21: Pirate Classic at Fairhope High School
• Sept. 28: Daphne Invitational at Trione Park
• Oct. 5: Jesse Owens Meet in Moulton
• Oct. 19: Baldwin Co. Championships at Loxley Park
• Oct. 24: Baldwin Co. JV Championships at Fairhope Pier Park
• Oct. 26: McGill-Toolen Relays at Langan Park in Mobile
• Oct. 31: 6A Section Meet at Graham Creek Park
