Baldwin County senior pitcher Madilyn Byrd allowed no hits in her quarterfinal start against Dothan and earned the most votes from Gulf Coast Media readers to be named the Seacrest Furniture Athlete of the Week.

The all-state pitcher and Florida Atlantic commit helped the Tigers to the semifinals of the Jubilee Shootout with a 5-strikeout no-hitter in a 1-0 win over Dothan. Byrd and Baldwin County advanced to the final four with other wins over Mobile Christian (4-2) and Faith Academy (6-3) but ultimately fell to Saraland who went on to beat Robertsdale in the finals.
