The City of Robertsdale and Baldwin County Commission are teaming up to improve safety and traffic flow at the intersection of Palmer Street and State Route 104.

The project will add new turn lanes, upgrade pedestrian access, implement access management features and modernize traffic signals. Officials say the improvements are designed to increase capacity, enhance safety and improve efficiency at one of the city’s busiest intersections.

“We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with the County Commission,” Mayor Ruthie Campbell said in a news release. “This project will make daily travel safer and more convenient for our residents.”

District 3 County Commissioner Billie Jo Underwood added, “These improvements are an important investment in our community. They’ll make this intersection much safer and greatly improve traffic flow for everyone who uses this route.”

The collaboration marks the sixth municipal partnership under the Baldwin County Commission’s 30 Cubed Program. The initiative encourages cooperation with cities and towns across the county to expand roadway capacity and connectivity, strengthening local transportation networks. Previous projects have included improvements in Magnolia Springs, Bay Minette, Spanish Fort, Foley and Gulf Shores, all of which have been reported by Gulf Coast Media.
