Baldwin County residents to get new go-kart and putt-putt golf options at Eastern Shore Lanes

When you feel the need for go-kart speed, where do you go?

Residents of Baldwin County currently have to drive to Foley, Gulf Shores or Orange Beach to enjoy putt-putt golfing or go-kart driving. That could soon change.

In 2023, Eastern Shore Lanes Family Entertainment announced plans for expansion. Details have been unavailable until recently. Gulfwide Engineering LLC has applied for site plan approval, which was scheduled to be reviewed by the Spanish Fort Planning Commission May 28.

Gulf Coast Media contacted owner Sonya Cole in April 2023 when the expansion plans were first announced. At the time, Cole did not want to comment until the property acquisition was complete. She was unavailable for comment at the time of this story.

An Instagram post from February showed the expansion plans for Eastern Shore Lanes include additional party rooms, an 18-hold putt-putt golf course and an 840-foot go-kart track with up to 32 state-of-the-art electric single and double karts. The expansion area will be to the north side of the current building. According to the post, the project is "coming fall of 2024."
