BAY MINETTE, Alabama — The Baldwin County Revenue Commission Office is mailing property valuation notices detailing value for both the prior and current year and the amount property owners must pay.

Property owners who disagree with the assessment have 30 days to appeal. The appeal forms are at baldwincountyal.gov (click the Revenue Commissioner link at the top of the page,) or by visiting a Baldwin County Revenue Commission Office in Bay Minette, Foley, Fairhope or Robertsdale.

Property owners that file an appeal will receive an appointment with a county appraiser as part of the appeal process.During the meeting with county appraisers, property owners are encouraged to bring evidence that will support their appeal. Evidence includes recent appraisals, sales information on the subject or other similar properties, income and expense statements on commercial properties, surveys, photographs, etc.

Property owners should be aware that the valuation notice is not a tax bill and should not attempt to make payment. Property tax bills will be mailed Oct. 1. The Baldwin County Revenue Commission annual tax sale will be May 15, at the Revenue Commissioners Office in Bay Minette. A list of delinquent property taxes can also be found on the website under forms and downloads. There are approximately 3,500 parcels with delinquent taxes. Registration is the day of the sale prior to the 10 a.m. start time. There is no charge for registration. A name, address, telephone number, Social Security number or Tax ID number is required. Either you or a representative must be present at the tax sale in order to make a purchase.

Payment in full is required at the end of the sale. Payment methods include cash, personal check, business check, money order, or cashier’s check.
