Baldwin County offers free landfill disposal of variety of waste on Saturday

BAY MINETTE, Ala. — The Baldwin County Solid Waste Department is encouraging all Baldwin County residents to participate in Baldwin Clean Sweep 2011 and get rid of debris for free on Saturday.

Baldwin County residents can bring yard waste, Christmas trees, construction debris, cardboard, tires, electronics, furniture, appliances, scrap metal, carpet and other rubbish materials free of charge to the Magnolia Landfill and the Bay Minette Transfer Station during Baldwin Clean Sweep 2011 on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. No regular household garbage will be accepted at this event.

Baldwin County residents must provide proof of residency in Baldwin County as well as name, address and phone number to discard their waste.

In addition to Baldwin Clean Sweep 2011, the Baldwin County Solid Waste Department collects waste cooking oil for recycling for free every day at all Baldwin County Landfill locations.
