Baldwin County man sentenced in firearms case

MOBILE, Alabama — A Perdido man received a 37-month sentence in federal court on Wednesday, Feb. 26 for being a felon in possession firearms.

U.S. Attorney Richard W. Moore of the Southern District of Alabama announced that Harvey Lyn Tillman, 38, of Perdido was sentenced after pleading guilty to the charge in November of 2019.

The 37-month sentence, imposed by U.S. District Court Judge Jeffery U. Beaverstock, will be followed by a supervised release term of three years. During that period of supervision, Tillman will undergo testing and treatment for drug abuse. Tillman was also ordered to pay $100 in special assessments, but no fine was imposed.

The case was investigated by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. It was prosecuted in the United States Attorney’s Office by Assistant United States Attorney Gloria Bedwell.
