The Baldwin County High School concert band will have their Christmas Concert on Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. by the gazebo in the Courthouse Square.
They will be performing "Christmas Flourish", "Charlie Brown Christmas", "Frosty's Caribbean Christmas", "Jingle Bells", and "Santa Clause comes to Dixie".
Once again this year the BCHS band will be collecting canned goods at the Christmas Concert for Bay Minette's White Christmas foundation. Canned goods can be dropped off in the lobby before the concert, or brought to Mr. Burkett's office.
The band booster organization will be selling homemade cakes before and after the concert. If you would like to donate a homemade cake, please make sure it is on a plate that can be sold with the cake. All proceeds will go to the booster organization for the scholarship fund.
Immediately after the concert, volunteers are needed to help set up for Christmas Fest from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. They are asking for each band student to bring a pack of soda to be sold at Christmas Fest from the concession wagon.
Freshman students are to bring Diet Coke. Sophomores are to bring Sprite. Juniors need to bring Dr. Pepper, and Seniors Coca-Cola.
The BCHS band will also march in the Christmas parade on Saturday, Dec. 8. The parade starts at 1 p.m.
The Technology Student Association at Baldwin County High School is extremely excited preparing for their fall projects for the upcoming competitions. In addition TSA helped construct vocabulary word walls as a part of the innovative school improvement plan.
Baldwin County High School's career Technical Department held its Annual Fall Cookout Nov. 8 in the BCHS library. The program included installation of all officers for each student organization, the introduction of Advisory Council members for each department, and a special presentation on the effects of economic globalization by Norm Stillwell of Quincy Compressor.
As a part of the support, appreciation and confidence they have for the veterans of this great nation, they will once again donate a holiday basket of fruit to honor the veterans living at the William F. Green Veteran's Home in our community. TSA and Career Technology students filmed the Veterans Day assembly and edited a video of the special recognition given to the veterans of our community and country.
As of now, TSA is collecting canned-food donations to be contributed to the Water Front Rescue Mission to help assist the aid of many lives this holiday season. As an ongoing project, the TSA committee member and the Career Technologies Program continue the production of Tiger TV. We now have an extended vocabulary and special announcements as a part of our new school improvement plan.
The Science Olympiad team will be having Secret Santa for the week of Dec. 10-14. Each day they will bring a different item for the person's name that they pulled. On Monday, the item is a snack, Tuesday is a Christmas card, Wednesday is a gag gift, on Thursday the item is an ornament, and Friday is a personal gift.
On the last day, they will have a Christmas party where they will surprisingly find out who their secret santa has been all along.
The Bay Minette Kiwanis Club in conjunction with the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce present Pancakes with Santa! This Christmas event will be held at Mary's Restaurant on 124 South Hoyle in Bay Minette Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tickets are $5. For more information contact, Mike Caldwell at (251) 937-5529.
Attention Boys Soccer Players: There will be a fall evaluation period for the 2008 team Dec. 4-6. In order to participate in this, you must have a current physical and proof of insurance on file.
The French Club had a wonderful time at the International Food Festival. They were able to "travel all over the world", see the range of differences between cultures, and arrive back to the school by lunch time. The International Food Festival was held in Mobile County.
Congratulations to Elyssa Downing, Nic Perego, B.J. Roberts, and Landon Roberts for having their work of art chosen by the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce for Christmas cards.
Friends of Exceptional Students had a meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 5. They made decisions on the Christmas party, and started a project for a local group home.
Seniors are able to purchase their senior hoodies and shirts this week. They are also reminded that scholarship and college deadlines are approaching! All seniors need to make sure to check their email for scholarship opportunities.
Mrs. Warfield is sending emails to all the available addresses for any scholarships that she may receive. If you do not have email access, check the counselors' office for any financial aid that you are eligible for.
National Honor Society will be hosting a Homeless Awareness Event on Dec. 14. They will be staying the night outside of Baldwin County High School in cardboard boxes. They are doing this to raise money for a needy family in our area.
If you would like to donate money, contact Mrs. Bridges or come by the school that Friday night.
The Balcoala Yearbook Staff are selling honey-baked hams and turkeys from the HoneyBaked Ham Co. A percentage of the proceeds will help fund the expenses for the Balcoala Yearbook. You may purchase a mini ham (serves 6-8) for $32.95, an 8-pound ham (serves 10-12) for $46.95, and a 9-pound ham (serves 14-16) for $51.95.
The turkeys are also honey-baked glazed and are $19.99. They serve 6-8 people. You may also purchase gift certificates that can be used at any HoneyBaked Ham Co. store or for online orders.

Baldwin County High School is offering a basketball T-shirt sale. All shirts are $15. The front design has a tiger with the "Baldwin County High Tiger basketball". the back design has the quote, "Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships". — Micheal Jordan. The National Anthem Choir meet on Tuesday mornings at . They meet in the BCHS Choir room. It is open to anyone who would like to come and listen and join the fun!
The Key CLub will be collecting Coke tabs for the Ronald McDonald house throughout the year. Last year, they received over $7,000 from recycled coke tabs. Bring you tabs by Mrs. Owen or Mrs. Miller's room.
There are a few students who have not submitted their pictures for the Yearbook Senior Ads. These students have paid for one but have not sent in their pictures. The Balcoala Yearbook staff needs these pictures as soon as possible or you will not have the ad that you paid for.
Also, the yearbook staff is accepting pictures that students or parents would like to be in the yearbook. They can be from summer activities, dances, sports, club activities, or just hanging out with your friends. there is not a guarantee that every picture submitted will be placed in the 2008 yearbook.
