Posted

The Baldwin County Commission, in partnership with the City of Daphne, will host a free America 250 Celebration on June 26 at the Daphne Civic Center, bringing together live entertainment, family activities and community exhibits in recognition of the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary.

The event will run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Daphne Civic Center, 2603 U.S. Highway 98, and is open to the public.

Organizers said the celebration is part of a nationwide effort leading up to the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States in 2026, highlighting themes of American history, freedom and patriotism.

A featured attraction of the evening will be a performance by the Alabama Army National Guard Band, which selected Baldwin County as one of its community performance locations while conducting annual drill activities across the state. The band will present a musical program described as a journey through American history and patriotic traditions.

Alongside the performance, attendees will find a range of activities designed for all ages. Planned offerings include food trucks, children’s activities, vendor booths, giveaways, senior activities, pet adoptions and community exhibits showcasing local organizations.

Officials said the goal of the event is to provide a family-friendly gathering that encourages community fellowship while recognizing a milestone moment in the nation’s history.

The America 250 Celebration is part of broader programming across the country leading up to 2026, when the United States marks 250 years since its founding. The Baldwin County event is intended to bring residents together in a local observance of that national milestone while highlighting civic pride and participation.
