BAY MINETTE, Ala. — The Baldwin County Commission has scheduled a third round of public interviews Tuesday from a list of less than 10 new applicants for the post of Emergency Management Agency director, according to Personnel Director Andrea Rider.
Rider said early today the applicants are from Mobile and Baldwin counties. She said commissioners will inform her by noon today who should be contacted for interview scheduling.
Commissioners interviewed a slate of candidates in June. During a work session Wednesday in Robertsdale, several candidates were interviewed, but no one was hired.
The panel may decide to seek an interim director at Tuesday’s Commission meeting in Bay Minette, according to Commission Chairman Frank Burt.
Commissioners generally agreed Wednesday that more time was needed to continue the search while using state EMA officials, the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office and the county highway department in emergency situations.
More than 90 applications have been received from throughout the nation.
