Baseball season is right around the corner and some of the top prospects set to graduate between 2023 and 2026 were on display at Saraland High School Sunday, Jan. 8, during Prep Baseball Report’s South Alabama Preseason All-State showcase.

After the dust settled on the extended pro-style workout, stats were pulled from Trackman, Blast Motion and Swift Performance technologies and showed a few Baldwin County athletes at the top of leaderboards in categories like fastball velocity, batting hand speed and 60-yard dash.

The Daphne Trojans had the most participants with seven, followed by four Fairhope Pirates, three Gulf Shores Dolphins and one each from the Spanish Fort Toros, Baldwin County Tigers, Bayside Academy Admirals and Orange Beach Makos.

Daphne sophomore Dylan Ackerman found himself in the top 15 of four different categories, including hand speed, exit velocity, bat speed and fastball velocity. Gulf Shores junior Connor Gehr registered three top-10 marks in fastball velocity, infield velocity and 60-yard dash and Bayside Academy freshman Wyatt Williams was top 15 in bat speed and exit velocity.
