DAPHNE — With winter sports nearly all the way wrapped up, baseball and softball officially moved into the on-deck circle with first pitches scheduled for Feb. 15.

The United States Sports Academy hosted Baldwin County teams for a media day event where squads previewed their seasons with interviews led by Ronald Wallace and the Ballin’ Down South Network.

From state champs and finalists to those who missed the playoffs, everyone’s blank slate starts next Thursday with an eight-week sprint toward the postseason which is set to begin for Classes 1A-6A on April 19 and April 26 for Class 7A.

The state finals will once again be held in Oxford and Jacksonville with a start date of May 13.
