The Baldwin County Commission has called an emergency meeting today to address urgent matters involving current public safety conditions and county operations.
County officials and the Baldwin County Emergency Management Agency will meet at 2 p.m. at the Baldwin County Emergency Operations Center to review developing circumstances, coordinate response efforts and provide updated information to the public and media.
The emergency special-called meeting is intended to support timely decision-making and unified coordination among county departments and partner agencies.
A press conference will be held immediately after the meeting. Members of the media are invited to attend the briefing, where county leadership and Baldwin County Emergency Management Agency officials will provide updated situational information, operational response details and key messages for public awareness. A brief question-and-answer session also will be available for accredited media.
The press conference will be livestreamed on the Baldwin County Emergency Management Agency's Facebook page to provide public access to the briefing.
Residents and visitors are urged to remain weather-aware and prepare for the possibility of hazardous conditions as the system develops.
Preparedness officials recommend using extreme caution near coastal waters, where conditions can deteriorate quickly. Residents should monitor official forecasts and local instructions, never drive through flooded roads and remember, "Turn Around, Don't Drown."
Residents also are encouraged to prepare hurricane kits and emergency plans, know their evacuation zones, strengthen their homes and secure boats and outdoor items ahead of the storm.
Baldwin County EMA will continue providing updates as the system evolves.
