Baldwin Bone & Joint partners with BCPS and City Hope Church for 20th-annual Many More Miles shoe drive

DAPHNE — Local school-age kids, runners and exercise enthusiasts may have put a lot of miles on old running shoes and shoes for all purposes, but when they are donated to the "Many More Miles" campaign, those gently used shoes will come to life again as they land on the feet of someone who really needs them.

For the 20th year, Baldwin Bone & Joint P.C. will host this important community outreach project, and for the third consecutive year the local orthopaedic practice will partner with Baldwin County Public Schools and City Hope Church.

The media, local schools, businesses and general public are invited to "Save the Date" for the 20th-Annual 2024 Many More Miles Campaign, which will kick off in January 2024. The shoes collected during this campaign will go directly back to individuals and families in the local communities including foster families, local homeless communities, local nonprofit organizations and local schools' clothing closets. Over 4,000 pairs of shoes were donated last year.

Key dates and information:

  • Many More Miles 2024 kickoff – Jan. 8
  • Shoe donation deadline – March 15
  • For the third year, Many More Miles will partner with City Hope Church to increase donations and outreach outlets.
  • Baldwin Bone & Joint will continue to award cash prizes (first place: $500, second place: $300, third place: $200) to the P.E. programs at the top three schools collecting the most shoes.
