Baldwin Bone & Joint is inviting the community to a free Lunch & Learn event at the Spanish Fort Senior Center on Thursday, Feb. 13, from 11 a.m. to noon.

The session, titled "Empowering Your Health: How Occupational and Physical Therapy Can Help," will feature occupational therapist Taylor Lewis, OTR/L.

The event is designed to provide attendees with practical strategies for protecting their joints, building strength and enhancing daily living through the tools and techniques of occupational and physical therapy. Geared toward seniors, the presentation aims to empower individuals to take charge of their health and maintain their independence.

Lewis, a member of Baldwin Bone & Joint's hand and upper extremity team, brings more than a decade of clinical experience to the table, including seven years specializing in hand therapy. He works closely with Dr. Allison Hunter, a fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity surgeon, to treat injuries and conditions affecting the shoulders, arms and hands.

"I'm passionate about equipping seniors with the knowledge and resources to stay strong, mobile, and confident in their daily routines," Lewis said in a news release. "This session is a great opportunity to learn simple, effective ways to support your health and maintain your independence."

Lewis holds a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, and is certified by the Alabama Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. He also brings leadership experience from his time as a sergeant in the United States Army National Guard.

The Lunch & Learn is part of Baldwin Bone & Joint's ongoing commitment to community health and wellness. Seniors interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP at the Spanish Fort Senior Center's front desk by Feb. 11. For more information, call (251) 656-3843.
