Bald Eagle Bash returning to Weeks Bay to support coastal conservation

Posted

The South Alabama Land Trust (SALT) is preparing to host its largest annual fundraiser as the 16th Annual Bald Eagle Bash returns April 25 at the Weeks Bay Reserve Tonsmeire Resource Center.

Set for 4 to 7 p.m., the event brings together conservation advocates, community leaders and residents for an evening designed to highlight and support preservation efforts along Alabama’s coast.

Guests will be served fresh Gulf shrimp along with local craft beer and wine while live music from Tim Roberts Bearded Music plays against the backdrop of a sunset over Weeks Bay.

Organizers say the event plays a critical role in funding the nonprofit’s work to protect natural landscapes across the region. Proceeds help preserve wetlands and wildlife habitats while supporting long-term efforts to maintain clean water and strengthen coastal resilience.

“The Bald Eagle Bash is where conservation, community, and celebration come together,” said SALT’s Executive Director Jane Herndon in a news release. “It’s a blast! An evening of amazing food, music, and camaraderie, all while supporting SALT’s vital work to protect our region’s natural lands before they’re gone forever.”

Tickets are $85 and are available at www.eventbrite.com/e/the-16th-annual-bald-eagle-bash-tickets-1980415617423. Weeks Bay Reserve Tonsmeire Resource Center is located at 11525 U.S. 98 in Fairhope.

Founded to safeguard coastal Alabama’s natural resources, the South Alabama Land Trust focuses on land conservation, education and partnerships aimed at ensuring the region’s environmental health for future generations.
