James Lockard Bailey, 70, of Elberta died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007 in Pensacola, Fla.
He served in the U.S. Navy for 21 years and was a Vietnam veteran. He was also a charter member of Shepherd by the Bay in Lillian.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Charlotte Bailey of Elberta; two daughters, Susie (Kenny) McGill of Big Clifty, Ky., and Angela (Chad) Praytor of Robertsdale; three sons, James A. Bailey of Metropolis, Ill., Daniel (Sherri) Bailey of Benton, Ky., and John (Wendi) Bailey of Metropolis, Ill.; sister, June Sielbeck of Metropolis, Ill.; three brothers, Orville Bailey of Metropolis, Ill., Jerry Bailey of Foley and Ronnie Bailey of Metropolis, Ill.; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22 at Shepherd of the Bay in Lillian with the Rev. Harlan Heiseman officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held at 1:15 p.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Fla.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Shepherd of the Bay Building Fund for the pre-school, 12851 Perdido St., Lillian, AL 36549.
