Award-winning art displayed at Baldwin County Library Cooperative

ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — The winning entries of the Eastern Shore Color by Kids Art Competition are on display at the Baldwin County Library Cooperative now through July 31. The competition is sponsored annually by Springhill Medical Center and is designed to promote the arts in Baldwin County.

“The work of these young people is extraordinary,” said Liz Reed, director of the Baldwin County Library Cooperative. “Baldwin County has always produced wonderful artists. This exhibit confirms that.”

First-place winners are “Untitled” by Lillian Dimartino of Fairhope K-1 Center; “City of Mobile” by Wynter Battiste of Daphne Middle School; “Vitamin C” by Sarah Hall of Fairhope Intermediate School; and “End of the Day at the Bay” by Claire Nichols of Spanish Fort High School.

Second-place winners are “Look Both Ways” by Shelby Noble of Fairhope Elementary School; “What a Hoot” by Marian Bennett of Fairhope Elementary School; and “Cubist Guitar” by Dionna Walker of Daphne Middle School.

Third-place winners are “Sea Animals” by Alise Anderson of Daphne Middle School; “Untitled” by Kenny Yeend of J. Larry Newton School; and “Untitled” by Alayna Frank of Fairhope Intermediate School.

The Baldwin County Library Cooperative consists of the county’s 11 local libraries, the Bookmobile and 12 book deposit stations.

BCLC is open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; and 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The library is located in the Baldwin County Central Annex at 22251 Palmer Street in Robertsdale.
