ORANGE BEACH, Alabama - The Auburn Tigers, Texas A&M Aggies, Florida Gators and Missouri Tigers will play in the SEC Women’s Soccer Tournament semifinals on Friday at the Orange Beach Sportsplex, with winners advancing to Sunday’s championship match.
No. 2 seed Texas A&M beat No. 10 seed South Carolina 1-0 in overtime with junior Jayne Eadie’s goal in the 94th minute. The Aggies will play No. 6 seed Auburn on Friday at 4 p.m. Auburn (12-9) defeated Tennessee 5-3 in penalty kicks on Wednesday. Former Gulf Shores High School soccer standout Sophie Simantel plays for Auburn.
Top seed Florida ( 15-4-1) advanced to the semifinals with a 2-1 win over No. 9 seed Ole Miss on Wednesday. Jo Dragotta and Erika Tymrak had goals for the Gators, while Erin Emerson scored for Ole Miss. Florida will face No. 5 seed Missouri Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the semifinals. Missouri beat Kentucky 2-1 on goals from Haley Krentz and Alyssa Diggs.
Friday's semifinal matches will both be broadcast live on ESPN3, with Sunday's final carried live from Orange Beach on ESPNU at 2:30 p.m. (central).
