GULF SHORES, Alabama — The last Gulf Coast Athletic Club event of this season is the 10th Annual GCAC Golf Tournament set for March 30 at Craft Farms Cotton Creek Golf Course.

This event is the primary fund raiser for GCAC with the proceeds from the tournament helping to fund the GCAC scholarships given to selected student scholar athletes from Gulf Shores High School. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet lunch available at 11 a.m. followed by a 4-person scramble with a noon shotgun start.

The entry fee is $80 for GCAC members and $100 for non-GCAC members and includes a buffet lunch, 18 holes of Arnold Palmer golf, beverages, hors d’oeuvres and social celebration after golf with a chance for many great prizes. A $10,000 Hole-In-One prize will offer the opportunity to win big for that one special shot. The other par threes will also have Hole-in-One prizes including a set of Callaway Diablo irons, a Sharp LCD flat screen TV, and 2 Roundtrip Airline Tickets in the Continental U.S. In addition, Honours Golf is offering a chance to putt for a trip for two, including golf, to the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, FL. Many other great prizes and gift certificates will be offered.

The Gulf Coast Athletic Club enjoyed an exciting Fall season with eight great speakers including Coach Joey Jones, Max Howell, Coach Gene Barfield, Roger Shultz, Coach Jackie Sherrill, Inky Johnson, Dr. Gaylon McCollough, and Coach Larry Blakeney.

The Club recognized seven Scholar Athletes including Sophie Simantel, Tyler Stargel, Virginia Jones, Chris Tiley, Sarah Uter, James Duggan, and Bethany Ogden. All are outstanding students and athletes and will be eligible for scholarships presented by GCAC later this year.

Anyone interested in participating in the tournament can enter. Also, Tee Marker Sponsorships are available for you or your business and we welcome any prize donations. Contact John McCormick, 251-967-4237, email mccormick436@centurytel.net for entry forms or other information.
