Arthur Whitlowe Pierce, 87, a resident of Fairhope for 66 years, passed away July 13, 2013.
He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, and worked for Liberty National Life Insurance Co. for 29 years.
He served in the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific during World War II, where he received two Purple Hearts.
Mr. Pierce is survived by his wife of 66 years, Genevieve Lowell Pierce; two daughters, Kay McKnight (Bob) and Vickie Outzen (Rob); two grandchildren, Melanie Newman (Brock) and Chris McKnight (Yvonne); and three great-grandchildren, Miles and Mia McKnight and Ashlar Newman; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Pierce was preceded in death by his son, Arthur Whitlowe Pierce Jr.
The funeral service will be held Aug. 10, 2013, at 10 a.m., at St. James Episcopal Church in Fairhope. The family will receive relatives and friends after the service in the Parish Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. James Episcopal Church Memorial Fund at 860 N. Section St., Fairhope, AL 36532.
