GULF SHORES — "Knock 'Em Dead" is a hilarious murder mystery that the audiences help solve as the show unfolds. The real mystery, however, is how to get tickets to the nearly sold out 10-night run that begins tonight.
Good thing you can guarantee a spot for the theater's 2024 snowbird show by auditioning now.
Every winter the South Baldwin Community Theatre offers its snowbird production, a show whose cast and crew are primarily composed of the Gulf's winter-only residents.
The director of the 2024 show, Pat Stiles, spent years acting and directing in her home state of Michigan and said the annual snowbird show gives her an opportunity to connect with people in Baldwin County.
"In the theater you become family, you'll always share this and the people at South Baldwin are so welcoming and encouraging," she said.
In 2024 Stiles will make her directorial debut with the snowbird production, "Hallelujah Girls," the story of a Southern gal whose world is filled with hijinks when she turns an abandoned church into a spa with the help of her best friends.
Stiles said the cast calls for six women and two men all ages 55 and up. No theater experience required.
"We have one woman in this show who has never been on stage before and she's killing it," Stiles said. "It's really all about fun and we'd love to have some new faces join us."
Auditions are Saturday and Monday. For more information visit www.sbct.biz
