FAIRHOPE, Ala. — The Fairhope Public Library Foundation will hold its 6th Annual Hoot Scoot at 6:30 p.m. on April 25.

Runners of all ages will take to the streets in their glow-in-the-dark race T-shirts, coursing through the beautiful neighborhoods of downtown Fairhope. A party under the stars on the Fairhope Library lawn will welcome runners at the finish line. The post-race party will be filled with food, beverages, music and our race mascot, the Owl.

By popular demand, this year’s race will again offer awards for prediction and speed. Awards will be given to the top five males and females who finish closest to their predicted times in the 5K. The three fastest male and female finishers will also be recognized. In addition to the individual awards, the school with the most registered runners will receive a $500 gift certificate to support their school library.

All race proceeds benefit the Fairhope Public Library. Registration begins March 2014. For more information on entry fees, registration guidelines or volunteer opportunities, please visit the Fairhope Library website,  or email HootScoot@att.net.

The Fairhope Public Library Foundation was established in 2008 to develop public and private financial support for the Fairhope Public Library. Through fundraising events like Hoot Scoot, the library is able to provide services, programs, equipment and materials needed to realize its full potential as a preeminent educational, intellectual and cultural center of Fairhope.
