Anne Frazer Fuller, 94, a Mobile native and Spanish Fort resident since 1952, died peacefully on Feb. 13, 2015 at Westminster Village in Spanish Fort.
Thought of by some as the matriarch of Spanish Fort Estates (she was the wife of its co-founder and its third resident), Mrs. Fuller was both a charter member of the Spanish Fort Estates Garden Club and the Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church. She also was one of the first members of the Lake Forest Country Club and a frequent golfer for many years.
Even as her life in Baldwin County flourished, Mrs. Fuller never broke cherished ties with the city of her birth, maintaining active memberships in the Junior League of Mobile, the Sirens Mystic Society and the Mobile chapter of National Society of Colonial Dames in America.
She was born Dec. 4, 1920 in Mobile, graduated from Murphy High School, attended Stephens College in Columbia, Mo. and graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.A. in French. She was a member of Kappa Delta sorority.
A five-year marriage to L. Guy Webb of Piedmont ended with his death in 1946. In 1948, she married George E. Fuller Jr., a decorated war correspondent. He died in 1989.
Mrs. Fuller is survived by four children, Mary Webb Bradshaw (John) of Montrose, George E. Fuller III (Frances) of Tampa, Fla., Mell Frazer Fuller (Donna) of Exeter, N.H. and Emmett Frazer Fuller (Melanie) of Marietta, Ga.; six grandchildren, John Frazer Bradshaw (Susie) of Oakland, Calif., Danner Webb Bradshaw of Joshua Tree, Calif., Matthew Charles Fuller (Jessie) of Davie, Fla., Mell Alexander Fuller (Jessa) of Chicago, Ill., Jacob Danner Fuller of Brooklyn, N.Y., Frances Anne Fuller of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Hannah Fuller of Marietta, Ga.; and three great-grandchildren, Hattie Bradshaw, Madison Fuller and Kinley Fuller.
Mrs. Fuller was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Danner Frazer; and her parents, Mary Virginia Danner and Mell Alexander Frazer.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at 2 p.m., at Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church, 6620 Spanish Fort Blvd.
There will be visitation following the service.
