Anna Childers Phalen Johnson, 98, of Lansing, W.V. and formerly of Foley, passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013.
Born Feb. 17, 1915, Anna was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Foley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ottmer and Edna Childers; husband Wirt H. Johnson; and Elmo J. Phalen, husband of a previous marriage; daughter, Janet Palen Akstin; five sisters; and three brothers.
She is survived by one sister, Betty McCoig of Prosperity, S.C.; one brother, Charles Childers of LaGrange, Ind.; son-in-law Matt Akstin; granddaughter, Kerry Akstin Britt of Fortson, Ga.; grandson, Danny Akstin of Alaska; stepdaughter, Melisande Johnson Hudall of Lansing, W.V.; step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews and many friends in West Virginia and Foley.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, from 6 until 8 p.m., at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Foley.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at 10 a.m., from Baldwin Memorial Cemetery in Robertsdale.
