Ann A. Larkin, 75, passed away on Nov. 1, 2022. She was born to Harwell and Faye Allen in Memphis, Tennessee. Ann grew up in Memphis and graduated from Central High School. She attended SMU and graduated with a master's degree in audiology.
She returned to Memphis and worked at Baptist Hospital opening the audiology lab. Her desire to help people led to a private practice working in nursing homes in Mississippi, Arkansas, and Tennessee. Ann got great pleasure in helping people with a hearing loss and speech issues. After being on the road and having a child at home she started working with numerous doctors in Memphis giving hearing test and dispensing hearing aids.
Ann and her husband John moved to Foley, Alabama in 2014 where she found herself again working in an office giving hearing test and dispensing hearing aids.
Ann became a potter later in life and could make about anything out of clay. She also enjoyed in teaching others the art of working with clay and how to fire it.
Ann is survived by her husband, John Larkin; son Allen Larkin; stepsons John Larkin, Jr. and Jason Larkin; step grandchildren; Samanthia Larkin and Trey Larkin; brother Jim Allen along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial for Ann will be held in Foley, Alabama. at a later date.
