Angela J. Osburn, a longtime resident of Daphne, passed away on Sept. 3, 2015.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Rose Battaglia; her husband of 31 years, Charles G. (”Charlie”) Osburn; her brother, Jack Battaglia; stepdaughter, Beverly Fisher; and Beverly’s son, Chris Fisher; and is survived by her daughter, Nicole Osburn of Daphne; son, Charles G.N. Osburn (Melissa) of Dallas; granddaughter, Angela McCord; step-granddaughters, Cecilia Fisher (Abby Lowell) of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Lynn and Natalie Fisher of South Pasadena. She leaves behind many more beloved family members and friends in this area and beyond.

Angela was born and raised in Kankakee, Ill. She graduated from Mundelein College in Chicago and taught high school and grammar school in Kankakee.

She went on to work for the Passport Office of the State Department in Washington, D.C., and subsequently worked for the Foreign Service at the U.S. embassies in Italy, Tunisia and West Germany in the 1950s.

She was married to Charlie Osburn (who also worked for the State Department) in Switzerland in 1959. They worked on assignment in Tangier, Morocco, Mexico City, Monrovia, Liberia and finally Bangkok, Thailand before Charlie’s retirement to the Daphne area in 1971.

Angela raised her children in the Catholic faith.

Angela was loved by all who knew her for her pleasant disposition, selfless nature and sincere habit of considering the welfare of others before her own.

A memorial service will be held at Christ the King Church in Daphne on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 11 a.m., with a memorial luncheon following at Christ the King.
