GULF SHORES, Ala. -- New York Times best-selling author and internationally known speaker Andy Andrews, will be the keynote speaker at the Baldwin County Republican Party’s summer dinner Thursday, June 14, 7 p.m. at the Robertsdale Coliseum in Robertsdale. Andrews’ books include the New York Times bestsellers The Noticer, The Traveler’s Gift, and his latest book, How Do You Kill 11 Million People?, which addresses the dire consequences of political apathy.

Andrews has consulted members of the Allied Air Forces, has been received at the White House, and has spoken at the request of four different U.S. presidents. However, this will be his first speaking engagement to a political group. The terms Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative are not used in this latest book, sub-titled “Why the Truth Matters More than you Think”. Instead, Andrews, a student of history, charts the rise of Adolph Hitler in 1930s Germany to show how a modern, industrialized nation can be manipulated by a relatively small group of power-hungry politicians. Andrews’ answer to How Do You Kill 11 Million People? outlined in the book and his presentation is, “You lie to them.”

Andrews, who lives in Orange Beach, started his career as a comedian, opening for Joan Rivers, Bob Hope, and Kenny Rogers. In addition to consulting with political and military leaders, he has been invited to speak to both the Alabama and Auburn football teams and the employees of the Augusta National Golf Club.
