WSRE has announced that André Rieu and The Strauss Orchestra will be making a stop on their international tour to perform for one night in Pensacola — April 24, 8 p.m., at the Pensacola Civic Center. This is Rieu’s second time to perform for Gulf Coast audiences.
He was so impressed by the tremendous support for a 2006 concert, he decided to include Pensacola on his 2008 tour. Rieu is an avid PBS supporter and has expressed his excitement about playing in northwest Florida and joining together classical music fans and PBS supporters once again.
“My orchestra consists of young, enthusiastic musicians who put their heart and soul into the music every evening. You’ll see me and the orchestra, and the audience, too, all having a lot of fun together,” claims Rieu.
All tickets for the performance are available by making a pledge of support to WSRE for $300. This will entitle supporters to a CD, DVD, monthly member guide, member card and two tickets to the best seats in the house for the concert.
Tickets will be issued on a first come, first served basis. If there are seats still available, they will go on sale to the general public in January through the Pensacola Civic Center box office, however best seat ticket packages will remain available through WSRE until the concert date.
