POINT CLEAR, Ala. — Fairhope artist Amanda Hendrich has been chosen as the official artist for Polo at the Point, presented by Point Clear Charities. This year’s event is scheduled to take place the weekend of Oct. 25 at the newly built Sonny Hill-Clearwater Farms Polo Complex in Point Clear.

The original 48-by-48 oil painting, valued at $2,500, will be auctioned off at the silent auction held the day of the polo match.

There will be no minimum bid, and all proceeds from the silent auction will benefit Mercy Medical’s Guardian Angel Program.

The colorful painting of polo players will be used on all promotional materials for the event, including posters, T-shirts, ads and programs.

Hendrich’s oil paintings are full of color, love and passion, and emerge from her life’s experiences. Since childhood, she has been fascinated with color and texture.

She playfully approaches a canvas with her own joyful attitude of life.

Hendrich begins by layering colors and shapes with her palette knife. Every stroke is free and spontaneous.

She has studied art at the University of South Alabama, Bay Rivers Art Guild and under the private instruction of William Nolen-Schmidt and Linda Ledet (aka Fidelis).

Since 1988, Polo at the Point has raised millions of dollars that benefited cancer research, local non-profit organizations and children’s charities and has become known as the Gulf Coast’s most prestigious charity sporting event.

The event provides a unique experience for fans of polo or those experiencing the majestic sport for the first time. Throughout the weekend, several teams comprised of local, regional and international polo players will compete to play on Oct. 25 for the coveted Point Clear Polo Cup.
