Allen L. “Al” Lucas, 80, a long-time resident of Daphne, died Monday, May 7, 2012 after a brief illness.
Al was born in Schell, W.V., and retired from CSX Railroad as an office trainmaster with 36 years of service. He was a loving father and grandfather and was an avid golfer and a terrific cook.
Survivors include his daughter, Vicki S. Lucas, Pensacola, Fla.; two sons, Gary A. Lucas, Fairhope, and Robert B. Lucas, Spanish Fort; two grandchildren, David and Leslie and other relatives and friends.
A service to celebrate Al’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 11, at Hughes Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Silverhill Cemetery.
