Elliott Wilson “Buck” Allen, 89, died Sunday, September 23, 2007 in Daphne.
He was a member of Lillian Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II and was a combat infantryman participating in amphibious landings at New Guinea, Leyte Island, PI, and Mindoro, PI, receiving three bronze stars with V for valor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and one grandson.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Andrews Allen of Daphne; daughter, Peggy (Daniel) Wilson of Pensacola, Fla.; two sons, Elliott “Buck” (Rebekah) Allen Jr. of Fort Walton, Fla., and Robert (Victoria) Allen of Daphne; sister, Flora Ann (Samuel) Bailey of Macon, Ga.; brother, Ralph Allen of Macon, Ga.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and visitation were held Wednesday, Sept. 26 at the First Baptist Church of Lillian. Burial followed at Pine Rest Memorial Park.
