Martha Clarkie McCormack Allen, 81, a native of Jacksonville, Fla., and a resident of Fairhope, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008 at her residence.
She was a graduate of Florida State University and the Presbyterian Training School in Richmond, Va., and a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Allen Jr.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. Ellis S. (Katherine) Allen III of Fairhope, William H. (Vinessa) Allen III of Martinsburg, W.Va., daughter, Mary-Beth Allen Layfield of Fairhope; sister, Mary Brown of Tallahassee, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11 at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12 at Newbern Cemetery, Newbern.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, Fairhope.
