Allan Keith McClammy, age 77, a resident of Robertsdale, passed away on Mar. 6, 2026, at the University of West Florida Inpatient Hospice in Pensacola. Keith was born in Loxley on April 12, 1949, and raised in East Brewton, Alabama. He is preceded in death by his parents William Harrison and Ruby Jane Crutchfield McClammy, brothers Willis (Sandee) of Mesquite, Texas, and Robert (Regina) of Pensacola, Florida. Keith is survived by his wife of 57 ½ years Debbie, and daughter, Melanie. Also surviving him are his brothers-in-law, James Cannon (Kathy) of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Tommy (Marcia) Pugh of Elkton, Florida, and sister-in-law Barbara Barnes of Brewton, and Chip (Crystal), Baylor, and Grace Hendrix of Orange Beach, as well as numerous nieces, and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. Keith leaves behind cherished memories and many loving friends and neighbors.

Keith’s athletic journey began at W.S. Neal High School in East Brewton, where he graduated in 1967. A standout athlete, he lettered in both football and baseball, earned All-Escambia County honors, and in 1966 was named an All-State football player. He was inducted into the W.S. Neal Hall of Fame. His talent drew the attention of many—he was even drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in Major League Baseball’s amateur draft. But Keith chose a different path, accepting a football scholarship to the University of Southern Mississippi, where he graduated in 1971 with a degree in health, physical education, and recreation. He would later add a master’s degree in administration and supervision from Troy State University.

That same year, he arrived at Robertsdale High School, where he began building his legacy. For six years, he served as head football coach and then continued to serve the Golden Bears as an assistant coach while also taking on the role of both boys’ and girls’ track coach. In 1986, his girls’ indoor track team captured the Alabama 4A/5A State Championship, the very first state title in Robertsdale High School history.

When middle school athletics separated from high school, Keith continued to make an impact, turning his attention to basketball and track at Central Baldwin Middle School. His teams were dominant, winning 16 of 24 county championships during his tenure. His contributions were so great that in 2000, he was inducted into the Baldwin County Coaches Hall of Fame and in 2025, he was inducted into the Robertsdale High School Hall of Fame.

But Keith’s career didn’t stop on the sidelines. After coaching, he moved into school leadership, becoming an administrator at Central Baldwin Middle School until his retirement in 2007. In his spare time, he loved working in his yard, golfing, and all things sports. If you were to see him in town, you were sure to get a “Roll Tide”!

A graveside service for his cremated remains will be held on Sat., Apr. 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery, Loxley, Alabama. A reception will immediately follow the service at the Loxley Civic Center. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the RHS Alumni Association, P O Box 1458, Robertsdale, AL 3657 or Venmo: @Robertsdale-Alumni to donate – Scholarship in memory of Coach Keith McClammy.
