Alice Davis Hyatt, 88, of Silverhill, Alabama, formerly of Murphy, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017.
She was a native of Cherokee County. Alice was the lead computer analyst with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, retiring with more than 30 years of service.
She was a member of Fairhope Avenue Baptist Church in Alabama. Alice loved her family and enjoyed gardening.
She was the daughter of the late J.B. and Mary Jane Lunsford Davis; and the wife of the late Oliver Nathan Hyatt, who died July 30, 1995.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Jane Hanks, Blanche Heath and Beatrice LeMaster; and seven brothers, Max, Sam, Oid, Ned, Ray, Howell and Don Davis.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Hamlin and husband, John "Eddie" of Silverhill; sister, Vista Miller of Springfield, Ohio; brother, Rex Davis of Murphy; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2017 in the Hanging Dog Baptist Church Cemetery in Murphy, North Carolina with Rev. Eddis Dockery officiating.
