Alexander Victor “A.V.” Lazzari Jr.

Alexander Victor “A.V.” Lazzari Jr., 89, of Loxley, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013.

Mr. Lazzari was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Italy.

He worked all of his life as a farmer, and fishing was his favorite hobby.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Robertsdale for many years, and had the privilege of training the altar servers.

Predeceasing him were his parents, Alexander V. and Ida Bertagnoli Lazzari; his brother, Angelo L. Lazzari; and sisters, Mary T. Lazzari and Margaret L. Defilippi.

Survivors are his brother, Louis H. Lazzari, Loxley; sisters, Alice Lazzari Simms of Daphne, Sr. Alexandrine Lazzari D of C in Mobile, Barbara Lazzari Gabel (Ernest) of Fairhope and Victoria C. Parker (Lincoln) of Daphne; 31 nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Daphne.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to Gentiva Home Health Services, especially his nurse, Wendy, and Covenant Hospice for their gentle and compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick’s School in Robertsdale and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38101-9950.
