Is the proverbial “cat now out of the bag” for all U.S. citizens to see?
With eyes wide open, here’s the facts:
On Sept. 1, the Obama Administration Department of Labor confirmed that it will enforce federal wage laws on behalf of anyone working in the United States, “regardless of immigration status.”
In other words, the rights of American citizens in their own home country have been further diluted by the incumbent federal executives.
One day earlier, Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, at an event, assumed the role of the proverbial cat and jumped out of the administration bag to brazenly tell attendees about “promises she made to Mexico and other counties to apply U.S. labor protections to illegal immigrants.”
Solis said, “I protect all workers here in this country.”
Then, Solis made a rather curious statement: “I have a vested interest in protecting all workers that work here in the U.S. — Period.”
Wow!
Ready for some more?
On Monday of last week, Mr. Obama’s hand-picked overactive Labor Czarina signed labor agreements with the governments of the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica and El Salvador to “protect the labor rights of migrant workers from those countries who are employed in the United States.”
Previously, Solis signed “similar agreements with Mexico, Nicaragua and Guatemala.”
Wondering what going on?
All this is going down while the number of unemployed citizens continues to go up.
Because of this administration’s policies and practices, the number of citizens actually working is down to 64 percent while the number of illegal individuals within our states continues to go up.
Might all this be the result of the attitudes and behaviors exhibited by a federal administration out of touch with citizens?
Instead of conscientiously fulfilling its U.S. Constitution-assigned federal responsibilities, officials in the current administration demonstrate what could be described as “hell-bent intent” to do the opposite.
For a long time, over the course of numerous administrations, federales in Washington have failed to protect United States borders.
Instead of stepping up to that reality, instead of building upon the demonstrated leadership of states such as Alabama and Arizona, and instead of taking right and appropriate actions, the Obama Administration launched lawsuits against those states.
That’s wrong.
That must change.
In June, a Gallup poll noted that “more than half of Americans believe the government needs to take greater action to stop the flow of illegal immigrants at the border”.
Being out of touch with American citizens is foolish … arrogant.
Foolish and arrogant have political cost.
Preventing sovereign states from doing what federal officials have failed to do is not acceptable.
“Hell-bent intent” is worse.
