Adell Smith Janes, a resident of Bay Minette died Thursday, April 4, 2013 at her residence.
She was born on August 20, 1922 to George and Sallie Smith. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by one sister, Frances Ardell Woodfin of Bay Minette; three sons, Albert Homer (Shirley) Janes of Bay Minette, Bobby Warren (Wanda) Janes of Saraland and Gary Phillip (Victoria) Janes of Bay Minette; daughter-in-law, Lisa Janes of Wilmer; son-in-law, Lloyd Harden of Ocean Springs, Miss.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren (one on the way); one great-great-grandchild; three step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Albert Herman Janes; her daughter, Alice Ophelia Harden; a son, Jerry Daniel Janes; four brothers and one sister.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 10 a.m., at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Anderson and the Rev. Brad Reinhart officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 5, 2013, from 5 until 8 p.m., at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Joe Wright, Roger Ivey, Rick Harden, Derek Janes, Jonathan Janes and Phillip McDaniel.
