GULF SHORES, Ala. — Musician Gove Scrivenor, Anne Lancaster Bell and Brucie Glassell (at right) are shown on the bench given in memory of actor/director Rich Lancaster, who died in 2009. The dedication was held June 26 at South Baldwin Community Theatre in Gulf Shores where Lancaster practiced his craft for many years. Bell, Lancaster’s sister, recalled how her brother began acting at a very young age, entertaining friends and family and then auditioning for a community theater when he was 12 years old. “I know how much this community and this theater meant to him,” she said. The bench will be placed in the Memorial Garden adjacent to SBCT. When complete, the Memorial Garden will feature several benches and a fountain. “If you worked onstage with Rich, you knew what a gift he was as an actor,” said Carol Kahn Parker of Pensacola. For more information about the Memorial Garden, call (251) 968-6721 or visit www.sbct.biz.
