LOXLEY — A two-car traffic accident on Monday, April 14 at the corner of County Road 68 and North Holly Street claimed the life of 20-year-old Jacob Clemmons. Clemmons was a passenger in a car driven his first cousin, 19-year old Erica Clemmons. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car Erica was driving was struck by 60-year old Carolyn Middleton, who authorities say was going northbound on Holly Street and failed to stop at a stop sign.

Middleton and Erica Clemmons were treated and released from area hospitals. At press time, the accident was still under investigation, and the Loxley Police believe alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
