LOXLEY, Ala. — The Alabama Bureau of Investigation is investigating a Loxley police officer. The officer has not been identified.

According to an e-mail from Loxley Police Chief John “Chip” Cason, “ABI is handling the entire investigation.”

Attempts to contact the investigating ABI officer were unsuccessful.

The offense, according to Cason, apparently happened while the officer was off-duty. According to Cason, the offense was sexual in nature.

The officer was placed on paid administrative leave pending word from the ABI or the District Attorney’s office.
