BAY MINETTE, Ala. — The 5th Annual Old Time Country Festival date has been set for Saturday, April 25, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Baldwin County Bicentennial Park, 51233 Highway 225, Stockton.

Commissioner J. Tucker Dorsey, Vice Chairman of the Baldwin County Commission stated, “The Old Time Country Festival is a terrific spring event in Stockton that gives Baldwin County and our Coastal Alabama

community a trip back in time to enjoy our rich history.”

The Festival will incorporate attractions associated with Baldwin County’s agricultural past and present and feature a look back at the timber industry as well, said Felisha Anderson, director of the Department of Archives and History.

This year’s Old Time Country Festival includes live entertainment, plowing and blacksmith demonstrations, pony and train rides, antique cars and tractors, quilters, square dancers and numerous other activities.

Just a few of the featured exhibits include:

• 19th century country store, a real store that once stood in Lower Bryant Landing in North Baldwin County and was used by Baldwin County citizens.

• Montpelier Methodist Church, an example of 19th century period architecture which still includes its original pews, pulpit, chandeliers, and stained glass windows.

• Blacksmith shop.

• Working farm.

• Native American Village featuring a full scale replica of how the Native American ancestors in Baldwin County lived. The exhibit includes a replica of a 1800's trade house, four winter homes, stockade gardens and a ceremonial mound.

• Veterans Memorial Park which pays tribute to the brave men and women who have and continue to serve their country. Each monument placed at the Memorial pays tribute to the veterans of that war era and acknowledge the sacrifices of these brave soldiers.

The park also includes a pavilion and picnic area and the Davida Hastie Nature Trail that has been dedicated as a living remembrance of Davida R. Hastie, a longtime local historian. The two-mile nature trail provides the visitors of the park an opportunity to view Baldwin County's indigenous flora, fauna and wetlands. The trail’s wide variety of flora is identified by markers placed along the trail.
