SPANISH FORT, Ala.—If Father’s Day snuck up on you and your little ones, have no fear.

5 Rivers Delta Resource Center is dedicating its June 18 Saturday Adventure slot to crafts and cards sure to make Dad’s day.

"One thing we’re going to do is make cards that have little balls of birdseed attached to them, so they can take them home and feed the birds in their yards," said 5 Rivers instructor Kellie Dorie.

Three or four other crafts will also be available, and participants can do any or all of them, Dorie said.

The festivities begin at 3 p.m. in the Little Batteu classroom, formerly the Cypress Gift Shop.

"We only renamed it recently," said Dorie, noting the name is French for "bay," but "we made it southern."

The designation also fits in to the center’s naming theme, complimenting the Tensaw Theater and the Apalachee Exhibit Hall, she said.

The free event is open to the public, and no registration is required.
